Port Blair, Apt 13: Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders in over 32,000 Rotary clubs. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It was founded in 1905 by Paul P. Harris. Rotary Club of Port Blair had been doing philanthropic works for about 32 years plus in these Islands, on the occasion of “Rotary Day” on 12th April.
A Car rally(convoy) comprising of Mercedes Benz, BMW, SUV’s, small and medium vehicles was organized by the Rotary Club of Port Blair with the enthusiastic members participating from Marine Drive(Near Girls School parking lot) which was routed through Clock Tower-Bengali Club-Forehsore Road-Chatham Junction-Delanipur Junction-Golghar Junction- Dairy farm Junction and culminated at Dollygunj, with TSD(Time, Speed & Distance) Dr.Dinesh, President, Rotary Club had thanked the A & N Traffic police for coordinating within a short notice at different junctions or vantage points for the grand success of the car rally.
