Port Blair, Apt 10: The Naval Higher Command Course Serial No 27 (NHCC-27) led by Rear Admiral Monty Khanna, VSM Commandant Naval War College, Goa and Directing Staff visited Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 08 to 10 Apr 15.
Naval War College located at INS Mandovi, Verem, Goa is a premier Naval Training institution which conducts prestigious Naval Higher Command Course. The course aims to train selected middle level senior officers of the Indian Navy and other Armed Forces, in the higher direction of War, Strategy and Operations.
The course participants and staff were briefed on the strategic dimensions of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands during their visits to the Command Headquarters and Naval Component. They also visited Defence establishments at Shibpur, Carnicobar and Campbell Bay. During these visits they were exposed to the multi-faceted aspects of these unique islands. The environmental and ecological sensitivities of the Islands was focused upon, such that future military leadership remains sensitive to the security vs development issues in the Andaman.
