Port Blair, Apr 08: The PCC President and Member State Sports Council Kuldeep Rai Sharma has written a letter to the Lt Governor requesting immediate filling up of two posts of Assistant Director (physical education and sports).
In his letter Kuldeep, appreciating the efforts of the Administrator for bring the department of Sports and Youth in proper shape for the benefit of the sports personalities of these islands, has stated that applications were invited from eligible candidates by the Assistant Director Sports (Admn and Planning), Netaji Stadium for filling up of the posts on deputation basis vide vacancy notice published in Dweep Samachar and the Daily Telegrams on 25th and 30th June, 2014 respectively.
Since eight months have already been passed from the prescribed date of submitting the application, Kuldeep has requested the Lt Governor to consider filling up of these posts at an early date to boost the department of Sports and Youth Affairs and also the sports personalities. Kuldeep has also stated that such consideration of the Administrator will add many more new talented sports personalities to the present group who have brought medals from International and mainland events among which one has also been selected for Olympic.
