Port Blair, Apr 06: The Andaman Unit of Aam Aadmi Party has demanded proper door to door survey for making new electoral roll for Municipal Council & Panchayat.
Reacting to recent delimitation of the wards of Port Blair Municipal Council, the Aam Aadmi Party’s Convener Mr. Sanjay Meshack today demanded proper door to door survey for making new electoral.
Appreciating the move to delimit the Port Blair Municipal Council area, the AAP Convener said that delimitation is a welcome move but there is a confusion among public about their names in the electoral roll, which is as per old arrangement. “New electoral roll with clear all doubts and help public as well as political parties,” he said.
Meanwhile talking to Andaman Sheekha the Chairperson of Port Blair Municipal Council, Mr. M. Arumugam today said that the Council is planning to put boards in different wards to tell public about new limits of different wards. He said that the electoral roll will be revised soon. Recently the PBMC has not only delimited the PBMC area but also declared expansion of PBMC limit and now there will be 24 wards instead of 18 wards.
