Port Blair, Mar 29: Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Union Minister of Science & Technology & Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, is scheduled to arrive at Port Blair on 30th March, 2015 on a visit to the islands.
The itinerary of the Union Minister on the day of arrival includes inauguration of newly commissioned Geomagnetic Observatory at Shoal Bay at 1200 hours and visit to the nearby Ross Island.
On 31st March, 2015, the Union Minister will inaugurate the Crafts Mela at Marine Recreation Club at 0900 hours and thereafter visit the National Memorial Cellular Jail. After meeting with the Lt Governor, A&N Islands, the Union Minister will leave for a visit to Havelock Island.
The programme of the Union Minister on 1st April, 2015 includes visit to NIOT Dollygunj and Centre for Marine Biology & Disaster Management (Pondicherry University) at Brookshabad. The Minister will review progress of science and technology during his visit to the National Science Centre.
Before leaving for mainland on 2nd April, 2015, the Union Minister will visit Marine Interpretation Centre at Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Wandoor.
