Port Blair, Mar 23: The Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) with the support of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, organised Youth Parliament Competition (Group level) at the Auditorium on 23rd March 2015. Shri. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament was the chief Guest. He observed keenly while students were staging performance about the parliamentary procedures. Shri Ray was also impressed by the dresscode and etiquette followed by the students in the Youth Parliament.
Earlier he interacted with the students participants and got to know their portfolios. Dr Manas Pandey, Group Coordinator who was nominated by the Ministry to observe the programme also gave his comments about the programme, Dr Pandey appreciated that students were enthralled the audience by their scintillating performance. Dr Iqbal Ahmad, Principal, JNRM spoke about the need for parliamentary democracy in the vast country like india and that too the role of youth in knowing parliamentary rules and procedures. Dr RVR Murthy, Associate Professr & HOD, Mahatma Gandhi Govt College, Mayabunder, who was the jury member asked the students to regularly inculcate their oratory skills through regular debating and continuous monitoring of the loksabha television. The answers were given the member of parliament and other dignitaries were such a wonderful document. Shri K Venkatesan, Assistant Professor & HOD / Coordinator of this Youth Parliament Competition earlier explained about the Youth Parliament Scheme to the august gathering. He also exhorted the students to use this platform to nurture their latent skills for development aspect.
Total 55 students took part in the competition. Out of them six students were selected based on their performance. They were.
