Port Blair, Mar 17: Call it technical fault or sheer bad luck of Andaman Students, the electricity department has today informed that that due to outages of 01 No. 5 MW DG set of IPP Power House, Bambooflat from grid, the availability of power has been restricted.
This is not the first time when Suryachakra’s DG set has developed technical issues during the month of March and April, which is exam season.
Hence the Electricity Department will exercise approximately 45 minutes rotational load shedding between 1730 hrs. to 2230 hrs. in an around Port Blair and South Andaman area from 17th march to till rectification of defects as per schedule given.
According to a release, the quantum and duration of load shedding during evening hours could be totally avoided, if the general public, the consumers and all other govt. & private establishment cooperate with the department by voluntarily reducing the use of electrical gadgets and equipments to the minimum possible extent, so that the wastage is reduced and the department is able to meet its peak demand within the existing generation and also requested to operate their standby DG set during the peak hours.
“All consumers are requested to use barest minimum electrical equipments especially during evening peak hours i.e. from 1730 hrs. to 2240 Hrs. We suggest during peak hours Air Conditioners, Geysers, Microwave Ovens, Washing Machines, electrical irons, water pump etc., should also be avoided for every ones benefits as much as possible. The commercial establishments must stop using halogen lights in their shops & hoardings and switch-off all such lights which are not basically required,” the release added.
According to details there will be power cut in part of Junglighat, Vijay Baugh, Dairy Farm complete & CPWD Complex, Light House, Phoenix Bay, Fisheries Jetty area, Anarkali, Delanipur, Quarry Hill, Phongy Kyaung, Foreshore Road, Megapode, Teal House, Horticulture Road, Part of Garacharama, Dollygunj, Attompahar, Old Pahargaon, ICMR Colony area, part of Minnie Bay 1730 Hrs. to 1815 Hrs.
Similarly from 1815 Hrs. to 1900 Hrs. there will be power cut in Rajasthan Mandir, ALWH Colony, Hawaghar Jn., Dudh Line, Nayagaon, Bargat Line, GPRA Colony & Carbyn’s Jn., Garacharama Sub Station, Japan Nallah, Austinabad, Prothrapur, Carbyn’s Cove, Brichgunj, Brookshabad & part of Chakkargoan, Mathura, Bridavan, Ferargunj to Jirkatang, Bambooflat, Hope Town StewartGunj, Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj & Shoal Bay, Chatham Mill, Chatham Wharf, Haddo Wharf, IOC & MES Power House.
In Haddo, Buniyadabad, AIR, DDK Colony, part of Delanipur, part of Prem Nagar, Foreshore Road, Agency House, Garacharama complete & 5 MW Solar Power Plant area, Part of Dollygunj, part of Pahargaon, ICMR Colony area, Dairy Farm Junction, Lamba Line, Ranchi Tekery, School Line complete & part of Minnie Bay complete area there will be power cut from 1900 Hrs. to 1945 Hrs.
In Coast Guard Enclave, Coast Guard HQ, Coast Guard Jetty, Panipath Road, part of Gurudwara Lane, Biggi Lane, Anthropological Museum Middle Point, Link Road, VIP Road, Police Line, part of Junglighat, CARI, AKT Miniplex, Bird Line, Calicut, Kamaraj Nagar, Beodnabad, Rangachang, Burmanallah & Chidiyatapu, Sippighat, Teylarabad, Bimblitan, Manjeri, Guptapara, Manglutan, Wandoor, Chouldari Tushnabad, Port Mount, Tirur, Templemyo & Ograbranj region there will be power cut from 1945 Hrs. to 2030 Hrs..
From 2030 Hrs. to 2115 Hrs. There will be power cut in Shadipur, South Point, Mazaar Pahad, Machi Line, RGT Road, Govt. Press and JNRM College, BSNL Telephone Exchange, Prem Nagar, Goalghar & Murdakhari area, STS Workshop, BSNL Bhawan, Model School Area, Fire Brigade, ANIIDCO Bhawan area, Girls School, CCS Aberdeen Bazaar area, Supply Line complete, Netaji Stadium area, Electricity Bazaar site office, Jama Masjid, Netaji Club and part of Gurudwara Lane, part of Sippighat, Chouldari Lal Pahar, Tsunami Shelter, Mithakhari, Namunaghar, Dunduspoint & Hathi Tappu.
While from 2115 Hrs. to 2200 Hrs. there will be power cut in Shristy Nagar, Marine Hill, Dugnabad, Cellular Jail, Atlanta Point, Aberdeen Bazaar site office area, G.B.Pant and Police HQ, Bhatu Basti complete, Laxmi Motor Area, Pathergudda, Setlite Colony & New Pahargaon, Mohanpura, Babu Lane, Aberdeen Bazaar from Ratnam Market to Taxi Stand, Aberdeen Thana & part of Gurudwara Lane.
