Port Blair, Mar 17: The Coir Board under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India in association with ITCOT Consultancy and Services Ltd. and YUVASAKTHI, NGO, Port Blair had conducted a three day entrepreneurship development programme on coir from 13th March 2015 to 16th March 2015. During this programme, training on motivation and attitude building, identification of business opportunities and guidance, various aspects of business accounting and baking procedures along with a technical session on coir, exploring the business opportunities available in coir industry, market prospects, schemes and assistance available from the Government etc were elaborately discussed. Mr. Poopalan, Regional Officer from the Coir Board (MSME) was the chief resource person who stood at length about various aspects of entrepreneurship involved in coir industry.
The programme witnessed the participation of altogether of 50 women members from various self help groups of the local area of Ferrargunj Tehsil among them, a few have shown their keen interest in entrepreneurship and also signed the preliminary proposal on coir project. Mrs. Jyothi Kindo, Pradhan, Wimberlgunj Gram Panchat graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The final session of the programme concluded with the vote of thanks to chair.
