Billyground, Mar 16: Continuing its strict action against drugs in these islands, on 14th March 2015, one person was arrested by the Police team of Central Crime Station (CID) from CFO Nallah, Billiground for possessing over 07 kgs of illicit Ganja.
Acting on secret information regarding illegal sale of Ganja at CFO Nallah, Billiground, a police team of Central Crime Station, Port Blair, consisting of Inspector D. Jagdishwar Rao, SHO CCS, SI N. Zainuddin, PCs Ashiq Iqbal and Sameer Ahmad proceeded to Billiground.
After gathering sufficient information, the team conducted a raid at CFO Nallah, Billiground and apprehended one person namely Naba Kumar Sarpan (42 yrs) R/o Curtbut Bay, Billiground and seized 7.350 Kgs of illicit Ganja from his possession. The accused was arrested from the spot and brought to Port Blair for further legal action.
In this regard, a case has been registered at PS CCS under NDPS Act against the aforesaid drug peddler. Further investigation is in progress, it is learnt.
