Port Blair, Mar 08: The first ever Seminar on IT & IT Enabled Services was organized by Rotary Club of Port Blair in association with Vision Tech IT Solutions & Unitech at Hotel TSG Grand, Dollygunj on 7 th March,2015. The objective of the Seminar was to promote IT & IT Enabled services through skilled, IT Professional & IT Experts and also to create an IT market through Entrepreneurship with our available resources. Dr.Dinesh, President Rotary Club of Port Blair in his welcome address suggested to form an association/ establishment of an independent body comprising of IT Experts, IT Consultants from various Govt. & private agencies for monitoring & implementing IT projects for development of Islands and for formulation of a proper IT policy. The Same association could be affiliated with National level IT Associations and Companies for appropriate guidance and support.
Earlier Rtn. Abhijit Agarwal welcomed the guest speakers. Mr.Abdul Gafoor, (IT Expert of Isles technologies), who spoke about the scopes & opportunities in IT Sectors along with the available IT Educations and resources & Employment, briefing about the IT Policies of A&N Administration and progress of IT Sectors in A&N Islands in last 10 years and also emphasized the formation of Directorate of Information Technology ,under A&N Administration for effective functioning and formation of IT policy.
Dr.N.Rajavel ,Professor (HOD)Commerce highlighted on scope and opportunities in IT sectors integrated with trading, banking, tourism and other service sectors and to take up IT Entrepreneurship opportunities by the local IT Resources and he has appreciated the Initiative of Mr.Sanjay Neogi and Mr.Keshab Barikdar, who has a vision to create a platform for the youths and IT Students of this Islands and wanted to explore the opportunities of IT market for the employment and job opportunities & for the development of A&N Islands.
Dr. Vinith Kumar, of National Institute of Ocean Technology briefed about the importance of Technology in terms of Ocean Research and study in A&N Islands. Meanwhile, the audience also raised a volley of questions about Internet connectivity, Training for Programming & software development, scopes & opportunities, they said this seminar is an eye opener and an Initiative for development of IT Sectors through Entrepreneurship skills.
Dr.K.V Murthy, Associate professor from JNRM briefed about the purpose of the seminar and also discussed about the solutions for the challenges and suggested to form an IT Forum with IT Business Community & other IT Resources and to submit a proposal with A&N Administration to find a better solutions, scope of IT Market development, IT Infrastructure Development.
The Seminar was attended by various professionals and from various IT related sectors. Rtn. Dhinakaran, Rtn. Rajesh Anand, Rtn.Dhinesh Kumar, Rtn. Abhijit Agarwal, Mr.Sanjay Neogi (IT Expert), Mr.Keshab Barikdar,(IT Consultant),Mr. Krishna Kumar(Technical Expert),and few engineering students, computer literates and unemployed youths, parents of children who are into IT related fields at mainland participated, they shared their views and queries and also the challenges on employment and job opportunities in this Islands and said this is a great Initiative by Rotary Club of Port Blair & Tech Venture Consultancy Services-A&N Islands, whose ambition is to collaborate with various IT Consultants from various companies across the nation. Recently a group of IT Consultants visited the Islands from Chennai and Bangalore & they said there is lot of scopes in IT & ITES, where youths can get job and employments and can be trained as IT Entrepreneurship with proper guidance. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Mr.Keshab Barikdar,(IT Consultant),Vision Tech IT Solutions. Rtn. Abhijit Agarwal coordinated the programme.
