Painting Exhibition of DGP impresses Art lovers
Port Blair, Apr 08: The Director General of Police, Mr. S B Deol has become a role model for many young hearts, not only because of his pleasing personality but also for his love and passion for music and art. An art exhibition was organized by the Mr. S B Deol from 6, April –to 8th April 2012 at Andaman Club Port Blair, where Mr. Deol displayed some of his water colours, oil pastels, mixed media and oil paints works. The subjects varied from still life to landscapes and the human form, which left art lovers of these islands, highly impressed.
With his own style of painting landscapes, Mr. Deol’s oil crayon works were very impressive.
The paintings on the exhibition also depicted some scenes of these Islands such as the North Bay light house and Birchgunj golf course, Barren Island etc.
Mr. Gauri Shankar Pandey & Mr. Mustafa of the local born association jointly inaugurated the exhibition on 6th April 2012, which was attended by many other senior officers and prominent citizens. This was his first exhibition in A & N Islands.
“My love for art, made me to present my works in front of people, I want that Andaman, which has huge stock of talented children should concentrate somewhat on art. Studies are important but art is also a part of our life,” he said after inauguration of his exhibition.
Motivating the youth & people of Andaman, he said “I started painting at the age of 13. According to me everyone is an artist of his own style. But he is afraid. Often thinking that what I will make should be liked by everyone. It is not necessary to make a photograph as it is, we can add our own ideas mix it and make an image”.
About managing time for art, the DGP said that if started children will surely find lot of time.
“If you will think that you will play guitar, but you don’t buy guitar, then how will you play,” he said.
