Port Blair, Apr 09: Monday began with traffic jam, chaos and total confusion for many students and parents. To the utter dismay of parents, most of the traffic and home guard jawans were not on their usual duty infront of various city schools.
This resulted in traffic jam, delay and total madness on city road this morning. Infront of Carmel School there was a traffic jam for more than half-n-hour. Infront of Ummat School there were no Jawan to help students to cross roads.
When enquired it is learnt that most of the Traffic Jawans were sent for traffic duty in Port Blair –Wandoor road as Lt. Governor was scheduled to visit Wandoor. Of course, it is important to keep roads clear for safe for the head of this UT but safety and convenience of students should also be on the priority list of authorities.
