Port Blair, Feb 16: Andaman Sheekha on 12 February 2015 had published a report which said that due to shortage of Homeopathy doctor at AYUSH patients are suffering.
Taking immediate steps the Director of Health Service has now brought back one Homeopathy Doctor from PHC Garacharma to AYUSH Junglighat.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Dr. S K Paul said that after shifting of AYUSH one more doctor was posted in AYUSH taking the total number to four.
“There was shortage of doctor recently because one of the doctors went on leave and another Doctor was temporarily transferred to PHC Garacharma, but now we have called her back to Junglighat,” Dr. Paul said.
Regarding lack of sitting arrangement, the DHS said that the department has provided benches for patients in AYUSH. “There is also provision for installing a TV set for patient, which will be done soon,” the DHS added.
It has also been learnt from inside sources that the Principal Secretary of Health of Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Mrs. Rina Roy had called a meeting with senior officers of Health Department after publication of news in Andaman Sheekha.
