Port Blair, February 12: The Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Mr Nitin Jairam Gadkari is scheduled to arrive Port Blair on Saturday the 14th February 2015 on a four-day tour to Andaman.
He will reach Port Blair via Chennai at 12.25 hrs and depart for Havelock in the afternoon by helicopter. On Sunday, he will review various ongoing projects at Havelock and discuss about the envisaged future development works.
He is scheduled to visit Radha Nagar beach in the afternoon. On Monday evening he will reach Port Blair and proceed to Ross Island and witness the light and sound show. At 6.30 pm the same day, he will address a public meeting being organized by the state BJP. In the night, Lieutenant Governor Lt Gen (Retd) AK Singh will host him dinner.
On Tuesday the 17th February, 2015, Mr Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the Junglighat Jetty in Port Blair at 9.30 am at a function being organized by the Andaman & Lakshadweep Harbour Works.
He will also visit Haddo, Chatham and Phoenix Bay Complex. At 10 am, he will hold a review meeting on port and shipping project works and other administrative issues at Raj Niwas. He will address the press at 11 am, followed by an interaction with the state BJP office bearers. In the evening, the Minister will depart for Nagpur via Kolkata.
The Andaman and Nicobar Administration and the police and different departments including those related to road transport and shipping have made elaborate arrangements for the visit of the Union Minister to the Islands.
