Port Blair, Feb 10: Indian Coast Guard Station, Kamorta organised Coast Guard Mela -2015 on the occasion of Coast Guard Week celebration 2015 at CG Accommodation compound. The event was inaugurated by Rani Fathima, Rani of Nancowrie in the presence of Assistant Commissioner Nancowrie Shri Casper James. This was the maiden effort of Coast Guard at this tribal Island. Initially the event was scheduled for one day. However, after splendid success and civic demand Mela was extended to one more day. Approximately 2000 people from different Islands attended the event. At the culmination Station Commander, Coast Guard Station Kamorta acknowledged the participation of Islanders. A communique received from PRO, Coast Guard.
