Port Blair, Feb 09:The District Administration, South Andaman has conducted an awareness programme on “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana” under the aegis of “Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” in the Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Ferrargunj on 7th February 2015 at 10:30 AM. The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is a National Mission of Financial inclusion, with an ambitious objective of covering all households in the country with banking facilities and having atleast one bank account in every household.
On behalf of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Smt. Rupa Ray graced the occasion as the chief guest whereby the Tehsildar, Ferrargunj, Principal, GMSSS, Ferrargunj, BDO, CD Block Ferrargunj, PRIs members especially the students & district officials were present.
While addressing the students the chief guest narrated at length about the main objectives of the “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana” (PMJDY) and urged all the students & teachers of GMSSS, Ferrargunj for active participation so that every household would have bank account. The primary objective of the programme is to make the awareness among the school student about the “PMJDY” mission and ensure to achieve the 100% target of having bank account for every household under the Gram Panchayat Ferrargunj.
