Port Blair, Feb 09: The A & N State Coop. Bank has inaugurated its 30th Branch at Burmanallah on 9th February, 2015. Shri. Rakesh Bhatnagar, Secretary (Cooperation)-cum-Registrar of Coop. Societies, A & N Administration inaugurated the 30th Branch of the bank in presence of Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman, A & N StCB. The programme was also attended by Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman of the bank, Shri. G Tarai, GM, NABARD, Shri. Sanjay Balan, DRCS, A & N Administration, Smt. Maimuna, Pradhan, Beodnabad Gram Panchayat, Shri. R K Thanvi, DGM, NABARD, Board of Directors of the bank, Senior Officials, SHG members, Govt. Officials and local people of the area.
The programme began with the lightening of the lamp by the Chief Guest and dignitaries. A welcome song was also presented by the students of Govt Sr Sec School Rangachang.
At the Outset, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director of the Bank welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries at the Dias. He has highlighted the various benefits of the bank to the general public and urged the local residents to come forward and avail banking services with Burmanallah branch.
Shri. Rakesh Bhatnagar, Secretary (Cooperation)-cum-Registrar of Coop. Societies inaugurated the branch premises by unveiling the stone followed by ribbon cutting. In his keynote address, Shri. Rakesh Bhatnagar, Secretary (Cooperation)-cum-Registrar of Coop. Societies, A & N Administration conveyed his regard to the Management of the bank including the bank staffs for opening up 30th bank branch. He has appreciated the efforts in providing banking services at Burmanallah – as a part of recently launched PMJDY campaign. He further stressed and appealed all the local public to come forward and avail the benefits of the bank.
Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman in his address informed the gathering regarding the various initiatives undertaken by the bank. He has urged the general public to come forward and avail financial services of the bank by opening accounts. He has also urged the local residents of the area to avail all the modern facilities of the bank like NEFT/RTGS in this branch which are usually available at Port Blair city. Furthermore, he has also highlighted that the Tourism industry used to suffer a lot due to non-availability of banks in the nearby vicinity of 10 to 25 Km. He has stressed that the tourism sector industries can come forward and avail all sorts of banking services out of this branch.
Shri. G Tarai, GM, NABARD in his address appreciated the efforts of the bank in opening a bank branch at one of the unbanked corner of these Islands. He has highlighted that Burmanallah is one of the most crucial belt for SHGs to prosper. He has urged the gathering to form new SHGs and avail financial assistance from the bank.
Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman of the Bank also spoke on the occasion. He had appealed to the local villagers to come forward and make new SHGs. He also spoke and urged the local residents of the area to join hands with the bank by opening bank accounts under PMJDY scheme.
The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri. K Murugan, Chef General Manager (CGM).
