Billyground, Feb 08: Communist party of India (M) North & Middle Andaman Zonal Committee staged one day Dharna at Billyground Bazar from 8.00 AM to 4.00PM on 7th February,2015 in support of their 35 demands. The demands are setting up of Assembly for the Islands, Stop influx, District & Sessions Court at Mayabunder, Immediate A.D.J Circuit Court at Mayabunder, Assistant Labour Commissioner’s office at Diglipur, Permanent J.M.F.C Court at Diglipur, Motor Vehicle Insurance office at Mayabunder, Navodya Vidyalaya for this District, Widening and repairing of ATR, Bridges over Middle Strait and Humphery Strait, Bridge between Kalighat 7 and Nishchintapur Creek, Tribal status to Ranchi Community, Schedule Caste facilities to Bengalis & others, Up-gradation of Billyground Hospital PHC to CHC, sea sand & Metal Chips through Forest Department, Essential Commodities through CCS in cheap rate, Distribution L.P.G Cylinder each month on schedule date, Minimum wages of Rs. 500/- per day, Establishment of Industries to provide job, Improvement of BSNL service, Regularization of all encroachments, Allot house site to needy persons, Berth of each ship at Mayabunder Jetty, Another Express Bus from Nimbudera to Port Blair at 9.00 AM and vice – versa, Regularization of DRMS, Adhoc & contract services in all departments, 200 days job guarantee, Free Text books to all students in the beginning of sessions, More STS buses and half tickets for children, Drinking water to villagers, Water reservoirs to overcome crisis in summer, Adequate medicine & specialist in hospital, Fill up all vacant posts of all departments, Improve Electricity supply, Reduce Bus fare – Boat fare – Auto Fare – Jeep fare – etc and Petrol Pump at Mayabunder.
At the end of the Dharna a public meeting was also organised by the Party worker at Billyground Bazar. In the public meeting main Speakers were Shri Pratul Bepari, Shri Nikunja Biswas, Advocate Tapan Kumar Bepari other senior party leaders.
