Port Blair, Feb 05: As part of Coast Guard week celebrations, Indian Coast Guard Station Mayabunder has conducted various activities & competitions at Mayabunder under the overall guidance of Coast Guard Regional Headquarters Port Blair. The events included drawing competition for various schools, volleyball championship for fishing communities & Govt. schools/department at Mayabunder. Coast Guard awareness drive was also conducted at MGG College, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. school, Govt. Middle school Rampur & St. Xavier school Mayabunder. In addition environmental walkathon, Coast Guard reception & troops get together was also conducted by the station.
As part of the concluding ceremony of the celebration “a prize distribution ceremony” was conducted at Coast Guard Station Mayabunder on 03 Feb 15. Prize winners including students of MGG College, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. school, Govt. Middle school Rampur & St. Xavier school Mayabunder, NCC cadets of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Mayabunder & volleyball teams of Fire Brigade Mayabunder & local fishermen communities who participated in the events were felicitated in the ceremony. The celebrations helped in spreading awareness on Indian Coast Guard among students & local populace of Mayabunder.
