Port Blair, Jan 08: The body of Comrade HN Parial, former Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Andaman and Nicobar State Committee was cremated today yesterday at Port Blair. Earlier in the day, his body was taken to CPI (M) State Committee Office Shaheed Bhavan at Anarkali, Port Blair and kept there to enable leaders of various political parties, trade union and government employees’ organization leaders paid homage to the departed leader. Mr. B. Chandrachoodan, Secretary of the CPI (M) State Organising Committee, Mr. SC Biswas, Prsident, NGOs’ Association, Dr Gauranga Majhi, Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha, Mr. SB Chatterjee of CITU, Mr. D. Lakshman Rao placed wreath on the body. Besides, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, A & N PCC (I), Mr. M. Sadasivan, Secretary, CPI (ML), Mr. PR Ganeshan, President, RJD, Smt Shantha Lachman Singh, President Mahila Congress also paid homage to the departed leader. A large number of party workers, trade union functionaries and other who gathered at the Shaheed Bhavan paid homage to the Com HN Parial. His body was taken to Junglighat burial ground in a decorated vehicle with party functionaries holding red flag and paying red salute to him in a procession. A large number of people had gathered at his residence at Goalghar when his body was taken to there.
