Port Blair, Jan 28: The Youth of Junglighat celebrated Republic Day by organizing a grand cultural programme at Junglighat playground on Monday. The PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Sharma lauded the efforts of the organizer and his team for providing a platform to the upcoming artists to show their talents.
The cultural programme comprised group dances and songs etc. besides fancy dress competition. The chief guest also gave away prizes to the winners of the competitions. Shri Rahmatulla, a freedom fighter and senior citizen, Ms. Saida Mustaq, PST of Junglighat School, poet Shri Mangat Ram and Shri Avinash of Avinash Orchestra were felicitated with mementoes by the chief guest for their contribution in the society.
This programme was organised by the Ward Councillor Shri Mahinder Prasad. A huge crowd gathered at Junglighat playground to witness the event, a communication said.
