Port Blair, Jan 01: During Winter Session of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha, Mr. B.P. Ray, Member of Parliament of this UT has a raised un-starred question bearing No.2990 before the Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha.
In his question he requested the Ministry of Urban Development to furnish about the conducting study for formulation of the scheme of Sewerage disposal system in Port Blair urban area and also for the expenditure incurred for the purpose.
In reply to the question, Mr. Babul Supriyo, Minister of State in the Ministry of Urban Development presented before the Speaker that the scheme is formulated in the Annual Plan of APWD in the name of “Improvement of Sewerage System in Port Blair area”.
The DPR for formulation of Sewerage Disposal System prepared by the WAPCOPS (Consultant) has been examined by the Ministry sought for certain modification/compliance.
The Admn/WAPCOPS (Consultant) presently being attended the modification/compliance suggested by the Ministry. The Hon’ble Minister further informed that an amount of Rs.98.44 lakhs has been incurred for the study conducted by the WAPCOPS (Consultant).
