Port Blair, Dec 21: As part of the 13 days Micro Entrepreneurial Development Programme which is underway since 17th December 2014 at Rangachang Gram Panchayat Hall, a training cum interaction session with special focus on Piggery, Goattry and poultry was held on 20th December 2014. Dr.Beljit Kaur, Senior Veterinary Officer from the Veterinary Department was the chief guest cum resource person where a training programme was conducted for the members of Self help Groups who were exposed to various aspects on goattery, piggery and poultry. Subsequently, an interactive session was held wherein the Sr. Vet. Officer had cleared the doubts and apprehensions of the self help group members on the given subject. She also encouraged the womenfolk to take up piggery, goattry, and poultry as livelihood options and also assured the support of Veterinary Department in every sphere of women activity in the above subject. The remaining sessions of the ongoing programme which will last till 30th December 2014 would rope in experts from fields such as horticulture, floriculture, personality development besides giving general awareness about various government schemes coupled with an exposure visit guided by experts.
