Port Blair, Dec 16: Shri M. Arumugam, Chairperson, PBMC visited Gandhi Park, Ward No. 14 to-day the 16th December 2014. He was accompanied by Agriculture Officer, Assistant Engineer-III(Wks), Junior Engineer-V(Wks) and Junior Engineer-III(Elect)of the Council. Chairperson issued directions to the Engineering wing to initiate action for widening of walkway and fixing checker tiles on the footpath. For the convenience of the general public those who visit Gandhi Park he was also asked to initiate action for fixing up of atleast fifty benches at various places in the Gandhi Park.
Further, the Chairperson directed the Engineering wing of the Council to initiate action for fencing of vacant land available near Gandhi park to ward off encroachment and to take up the matter with District Administration for allotment of vacant land in favour of PBMC for undertaking various developmental activities. Taking a strong note on the dilapidated condition of the road in the Gandhi Park the Chairperson, PBMC directed to initiate immediate action for resurfacing of road inside Gandhi Park for the expediency of general public as well as tourist visits Gandhi Park. At last Chairperson, PBMC directed Agriculture Officer to facelift the existing site office of Agriculture Officer.
