Port Blair, Dec 07: The South and Light Show was finally inaugurated at Ross Island today after a wait for three long years. But the show, presented today infront of a large assemblage at Ross Island left everyone impressed.
The 3D graphics was amazing and the background sound was also wonderful but the duration of the show, which is nearly 45 minutes was too short for so much of story and narration. Somewhere it failed to connect with most of the people as the sound and light show of Cellular Jail, always does.
It was more of entire history than Ross Island. Some points like Ganesh Temple, Mosque were built at Ross Islands did not go down well with many audience. The show must be called as Multimedia presentation than only Sound and Light show.
The Bakery of Ross Island was very cleverly used for 3D effects and the same building, which is painted white, wears several colour and changes many shapes during the show, with the help for lighting.
“While audience enjoyed the superb sound effects the deer, peacock and peahens must have a horrible time in the evening hours at Ross Island,” an audience commented.
The show was formally inaugurated today at Ross Island in which the First Lady, Smti. Suneeti Singh, Chief Secretary, Shri Anand Prakash and Admiral P.K. Chatterjee, Commander-in-Chief, ANC, among other dignitaries, were present on the occasion.
There are many big names behind the Light and South Show of Ross Island, such as Gulzar, Resul Pookutty, Film Actress Revathy and also Shabana Azmi.
Before the show the Project Director & Film Actress, Ms Revathi spoke in the function, highlighting elaborately how the entire project of this S & L Show came about in three year’s time.
