Port Blair, Dec 05: Directorate of Education A & N Administration is organizing the XVIII State School Games–2014 and 3rd State Level competition for CWSN at Netaji Stadium from 08th to 12th December 2014. Shri. Anand Prakash, Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration will be the Chief Guest during the Opening Ceremony on 08th Dec. 2014 at 3.00 PM. All-together 900 participants from nine different Educational Zones and about 200 teachers are expected to participate in the mega event.
The Eighteenth State School Games 2014 will begin with the lighting of Sports Torch by Shri. Anand Prakash, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration at Chief Secretary’s Bungalow on 08th Dec, 2014 at 9.00 AM, which will be carried by State level National and International level Sports persons of these Islands through city roads to Netaji Stadium via, National memorial.
The formal inaugural Ceremony of the XVIII State School Games will be held at 03.00 PM on 08th Dec, 2014 at Netaji Stadium. The Opening ceremony includes colourful cultural programme by students of headquarter schools. Various games and events for U-16 Boys & Girls to be conducted are: Basket Ball, Hockey, Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Badminton, Table Tennis, Yoga, Swimming, Road Race, Road Cycle Race and various Athletics events.
All sports lovers of these Islands are cordially invited to witness the prestigious State Level Tournament from 08th Dec 2014.
