Port Blair, Nov 17: HQ ANC undertook beaching operations at Havelock Island on 16 Oct 14 towards its ongoing efforts to ensure readiness to undertake security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in A&N group of Islands. Indian Navy ships and Army troops participated in the exercise conducted by HQ ANC.
Even the operations conducted at Radhanagar Beach, the popular tourist destination, it was ensured that no inconvenience was caused to tourists and due consideration was given to environmental and ecological aspects. The exercise was conducted at Havelock after a gap of five years. Conducting such exercise on regular basis will facilitate smooth operations by Defence Forces, for any eventuality related to security and natural disasters, and help them serve populace with ease.
