Port Blair, Nov 02: The Department of Home Science organized Orientation Programme for 12th National Youth Parliament Competition in JNRM seminar room. Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament explained vividly about the Parliamentary Procedures, Question Hour, calling attention motion by throwing suitable examples based upon the need of these islands. The participating students have also raised questions based upon the video screened earlier about mock Youth Parliament.
Dr Iqbal Ahmad, Principal, JNRM while speaking on the occasion motivated the students to take part actively in such competition whereby getting firsthand information about the value of Parliament and its noble task in nation building by various laws and programmes / schemes. Shri K Venkatesan, HOD, Home Science spoke on role of students for making vibrant democracy by involving themselves as participants in the national level programmes. Dr Swapan Kr Biswas, Associate Professor also spoke on the occasion. Smt. Nidhi Shekhwat, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science proposed vote of thanks.
