Port Blair, Nov. 2: As part of the observance of Vigilance awareness week, the Department of BBA Tourism of JNRM organised tourism regulation awareness programme in the college Auditorium yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Shri. Mohammed Jadwet, MD Jadwet Trading Company, informed about various tourism facilities available in the islands and emphasised that the tourist should leave only foot prints, to maintain the environmental sustainability of the Islands.
While speaking on the occasion, Shri. Krishnam Achariya, Centre Director TIM, stated that the people of A & N Islands should be vigilant and should not provide shelter to any antisocial activities. The Principal JNRM, Dr Iqbal Ahmed described the vast potential of the tourism in the Islands. Shri P Abdul Salam, Assistant Professor, Dept. of BBA Tourism, spoke on the significance of tourism regulations. On this occasion the student of JNRM presented a skit and highlighted the corruption prevailing in the society.
The programme started with the welcome address by Shri. Seemanta Kumar Deka, the Head of the Department BBA Tourism. The programme concluded with the vote of thank proposed by Dr. (Smt.) Laxmi, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Hindi.
