Port Blair, Oct 28: The collapsed retaining walls of ASI Quarters at Hawa Ghar Junction has become a major source of discomfort for people. Because of undergoing re-construction works of the retaining wall huge amount of earth has been dumped on the road, causing road block every morning.
Earth dumped on the road covered half-of the road leaving hardly any space for vehicles. During school opening and closing timings one can see long traffic Jams. Sadly no traffic jawan could be seen at the Junction. There are more policemen in these Islands than coconut trees in city but in such crucial places no police jawan could be seen.
The traffic police and revenue department must impose challan on the contractor or on the officials of ASI for causing such chaos in the city. This is second time when the said retaining wall has collapsed.
