Port Blair, Oct 22: Army Component organised a grand Diwali Mela on the occasion of festival of Diwali from 21 Oct to 22 Oct 14 at Nariyal Bageecha in Brichgunj Military Station. Army being a secular organisation, celebrates all festivals with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Various food stalls along with games were in place in which all components of the ANC visited and thoroughly enjoyed along with their families. The Mela culminated with a grand display of fireworks. The Mela also gave an opportunity to all serving personnel and families to meet up and celebrate the festival lights.
On the occasion, Vice Admiral Pradeep K Chatterjee, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command visited Diwali Mela at Brichgunj and wished all ranks and families a very Happy Diwali.
