Port Blair, Oct 14: Acting swiftly, the Police team of PS Aberdeen has arrested Mr. Firoz, the auto driver, who was absconding after hitting a lady tourist, since yesterday.
According to reports, the lady tourist Laxmi Devi Sharma, w/o Mukesh Sharma had sustained severe head injuries, which resulted in her death this morning at around 3.30 am.
The lady along with her family including husband, a son and a daughter had arrived Port Blair yesterday itself from Rajasthan.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that the auto driver did pick up the injured tourist and handed over her to PCR but while shifting the lady the auto driver escaped and remained underground whole night. However, the PC Aberdeen police team managed to locate the Auto Driver after a whole night search, it is reported. Meanwhile the body of Late Laxmi Devi Sharma was sent to Mainland by today’s flight.
