Port Blair, October 13: The Controller General of Defence Accounts, Ms Vandana Srivastava, is on a two-day official tour in the Islands.
She arrived at Port Blair today from Delhi via Chennai. She was received at the Defence Accounts Department in Port Blair by the Controller of Defence Accounts, New Delhi, Mr Kamal Chowdhery, Integrated Financial Advisor to the Andaman and Nicobar Command, Port Blair, Mr Padam Lal Negi, Additional Controller of Defence Accounts, Mr Anil Kumar Kokate, and other officials.
She reviewed the progress of various ongoing works of the Department and she was briefed about the recently installed kiosk in the office premises that provides the status of the processing of various accounts related to the Command personnel.
Ms Vandana Srivastava, the senior most Indian Defence Accounts Service officer of the Ministry of Defence, later distributed certificates to 30 officials who donated blood as part of the Defence Accounts Department Day on 1st October. She also met the senior officers of the Andaman and Nicobar Command.
Ms Vandana Srivastava will lay the foundation stone for the Department’s staff quarters at Garacharma in a function to be held tomorrow evening.
