Port Blair, Oct 07: In view of the Disaster preparedness with respect to Cyclone related warning issued by IMD for next 48 hrs the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has issued necessary directions to all the Line Departments, regarding activating emergency support functions.
In view of the above, the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has suspended all the Foreshore/Harbour ferry services and vehicular traffic except emergency services only along ATR route from Ferrargunj onwards in the District of South Andaman on 08th October 2014 for 24 hrs till further orders. All possible efforts would be made by District Administration to ensure Disaster Preparedness in case of any emergent situation.
