Billyground, Oct 06: Heavy rainfall in Thoratang area of Middle Andaman caused flood like situation in some places including the campus of Government Primary School Thoratang.
According to reports continuous rainfall on 1st and 2nd October left the GPS Thoratang campus inundated with muddy water. According to the reports, water level reached close to the height of windows, making it difficult for students to reach school. Those who reached school could not attend classes, as the classrooms were full of muddy water.
In some portion of the school, construction work is going on but rain water swept away construction materials, causing huge loss to the contractor.
This is not the first time when muddy water inundated the school, every year twice or thrice, heavy rainfall creates such flood like situation.
PRI Members and Parents allege that they have been demanding for a permanent solution for this problem but till now their requests have fallen into deaf ears.
