Port Blair, Oct 06: Clarifying the issue of Andaman College, the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lt. Gen (Retd.) A K Singh on Sunday said that students are the centerpiece of an education system. Student’s interest will be given priority while selecting a permanent site for the College, he said.
Addressing a gathering after watching final match of the RSC League-cum-knockout football tournament-2014, held at Wimberlygunj Mini Stadium on Sunday the Lt. Governor directed the Secretary (Education) to organize a seminar to get the feedback from the students and other stakeholders in this regard.
He said that plans are also on the card to introduce a Community College scheme under the RUSA scheme, which could be considered for rural areas.
