Port Blair, Sept 07: Quoting the Media report on the issue of release of MBBS seats, the PCC chief Kuldeep Rai Sharma wrote a letter to the Lt Governor wherein he has stated that since there is no increase in the number of Medical seats as compared to last year which is still 13 seats from the Central pool for the students of AN Islands for the academic session 2014-15, he has submitted that as considerable time has already been lapsed in release of seats, the process of allotment of these seats to the students may be concluded as early as possible so that the students can join the Medical Colleges in mainland without further loss of academic session.
In view of the prevailing scenario, laying special emphasis Kuldeep has requested the Lt Governor for opening of Medical college by next academic session i.e. 2015-16 in these islands which is a must and urgent need of the islands as it will make possible for more students to pursue medical courses besides improving the health care delivery system.
