Port Blair, Aug 27: The State Bank of India/Lead Bank Office will be organizing a mega camp for account opening under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), in the auditorium of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), on Aug 28, 2014. This scheme will also be launched by the Prime Minister at the National Level at New Delhi on the same day.
During this camp here, counters of all banks of A&N Islands will be made available for massive account opening under the PMJDY scheme. The Lt Governor, Lt Gen A.K. Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd) will be the chief guest of the programme scheduled at 3.30 pm on Aug 28, while the Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
All the general public, who have not yet open their bank account, have been requested to approach the mega camp by the banks for opening accounts, the Lead District Manager informed here today.
