Diglipur, Aug 24: In connection with the ensuing Bye-Elections for the vacancies of the PRI members in North and Middle Andaman region, dry day is being observed at Diglipur and Rangat region since 22nd August to 25th August.
Today in the afternoon following a tipoff the Police reached the BB Bar and recovered a carton full of IMFL from the waiter of the BB Bar. But instead of registering a case against the owner of the Bar as it was done in past the case was registered only against the waiter.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the DySP, Diglipur Mr. Chandra Kumar, IPS Diglipur he said that as per his information the IMFL bottles were not recovered from the Bar but from outside area and hence case was registered against the waiter.
But one wonders how can a person on a Dry day carry a carton full of IMFL (20 Bagpiper bottles) in the heart of the Diglipur bazaar, which are not in stock of ANIIDCO.
Why the police did not cross checked the stock of the said Bar or questioned the owner? Weather the police acquired the version of the furniture shop where the accused was reportedly hiding at the time of the raid?
