Port Blair, Aug 20: A team of Anti-Corruption Unit arrested a Regular Mazdoor of Agriculture Department, Shri. Antheres Kerketta on 20/08/2014 for indulging in pilferage of farm products of Agriculture Department while obtaining an illegal gratification in the form of tainted money of Rs.10,000 /- and delivering part of the items.
On 20/08/2014 a written complaint was submitted by a complainant that Antheres Kerketta working at the Sippighat Agriculture Farm is allegedly selling off farm products of Agriculture Department illegally for personal gains. The complainant reported that he was asked for Rs. 10,000/- along with the list of required items which will be delivered later by the alleged accused. Subsequently, FIR under relevant section of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered at PS Anti-Corruption and a trap laying team comprising of independent witnesses was formed. Later, on receipt of pre-identified signed from the complainant at Megapode Junction, Seashore Road, Haddo, the trap team intercepted Antheres Kerketta and caught him red handed with the tainted money of Rs. 10,000/- along with some Agriculture Farm products at the spot. After observing all codal formalities, he was arrested at PS Anti-Corruption Unit and he will be produced before the Hon’ble Court on 21/08/2014.
