Port Blair, Aug. 05: Mr. B. P. Ray, Member of Parliament has raised un-starred question before the Speaker in the Lok Sabha recently.
The Member of Parliament has requested the Minister of Home Affairs to intimate the total purchase of furniture and fixture by the Govt. Department of A&N Administration during past 5years.
At the same time it has been also asked to intimate whether any instruction has been issued to A&N Administration to promote and purchase of local made furniture.
In reply to the above quarry, Mr. Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs has made available the list of furniture procured by 32 Departments of A & N Administration.
In reply to the question of promoting and procurement local made furniture, the Minister informed that no such instruction so far has been issued to the A&N Administration.
