Port Blair, Aug. 05, The Annual General Body meeting of the A&N Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd., was held on 03/08/2014 at 11.00 am under the Chairmanship of Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma. The meeting was attended by Director of the Federation and members of various societies including Dr. G.S. Pandey, Director of Agriculture, A&N Islands (Govt. Nominee). The following important decisions were taken in the meeting.
While addressing the gathering Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma emphasized on organic farming and requested the farmers to make our Islands completely inorganic free zone. He also highlighted the demerits of inorganic farming which causes had effect to human body. He requested the Directors of Agriculture to give more subsidies to the farmers who do organic farming. Shri Sharma said that the Federation is ready to open an outlet for the produce of organic farming. He also insisted that lots of publicity should be done through meeting in the villages, hoardings, print and electronic media about the ill effects of inorganic farming. Dr. G.S Pandey, Director of Agriculture also spoke and assured to work jointly with the ANCOFED for the above causes. Shri M.K.Srinivasan, General Manager also spoke during the occasion.
