Port Blair, Aug 02: Yesterday evening a CID raided a brothel and arrested two people, out of whom one is a regular Home Guard. According to sources the raid was conducted following a tip off from a resident of the area. When the matter reached to the Dy.S.P (CID) a trap was laid and soon the prostitution racket being run by the regular Home Guard lady was busted.
This incident has brought shame for both Police and Administration as the Home Guard unit is directly government by Administration and run by Police Department.
According to reports a few journalists helped the CID team in busting this racket.
In past cases it has been found that after every raid the arrested people are left from the Police Station after challan, which is perhaps the main reason why anti-social elements are getting encouragement. There is a need to place stringent law against prostitution business so that it works as a deterrent.
