Port Blair, June 27: Mrs Ratna Kannan, Chairperson, Andaman & Nicobar social welfare board will be inaugurating “awareness generation programme” as chief guest on 30.06.2014 while proceeding towards Rangat on 29.06.2014 at an official tour. The camp is being organized by Padmanabhapuram Mahila Mandal, Betapur No: 3 at Curt Bert Bay in the hall of Hawks Bill Nest.
The main objective of the “awareness generation programme” of the board is to enlighten and motivate the voluntary organizations to conduct thematic camps on the issues like sexual harassment, rising cases of rape, suicidal tendencies, domestic violence and the prevention and remedial measures that could be taken to stop such crimes.
The women participants from the nearby villages and PRIs are likely to attend the camp, in which Mr. Chandra Kumar Singh, Dy. Superintendent of Police will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
