Port Blair, June 11: State President of BJP Mr. Vishal Jolly met the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and discussed with him the matters concerning the new degree college. He had requested that the new permanent degree College should be set up in Bamabooflat – Wimberlygunj area as around 400 to 500 students are coming from these areas to Port Blair daily to pursue their studies.
A college in their area will give impetus to college education among students of rural area and also reduce heavy burden presently felt on ferry & vehicle ferry service during peak hours.
The Lt. Governor gave a patient hearing and reportedly assured to take up the matter in LG’s Advisory Council meeting and arrive at a concrete decision very soon, a release issued by BJP said here today.
