Port Blair, June 02: State Level Communication Exercise “Suraksha Goonj“ will be conducted on 05th June 2014 in coordination with all Stakeholders and line departments to check all Disaster Management emergency communication systems and networking from the State Control Room to 06 Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) along with other Control Rooms of Various Departments up till last mile connectivity and response mechanism to find out its efficacy towards disaster preparedness in ANI.
The Exercise will start at 0730 hrs after receiving mock disaster alerts from Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCIOS), Hyderabad and will be followed with 07 bulletins continuously till 1300 hrs on 05th June, 2014. At 0745 hrs 34 Tsunami Sirens and 13 Electronic Display Board Sirens installed in ANI will also be blasted for two consecutive intervals with duration of 30 seconds as TEST SIREN during the Exercise.
Therefore, the general public is hereby informed not to panic during the Communication Exercise “Suraksha Goonj” and the test of sirens on 05th June, 2014.
