Port Blair, June 02: The concluding programme of Seven days Adventure Promotion Camp from 27.05.2014 to 02.06.2014 which was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair and Nehru Yuva Kendra Campbell Bay held at Youth Hostel, Port Blair on 2nd June, 2014. In this camp 25 participants were participated in each programme. At the numbers 6 participants from Carnicobar and kamorta and Rangat, Diglipur participated and at the number 13 participants participating from host Kendra’s Port Blair Campbell Bay and in a total 50 participants has participated from three Districts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The objective of the adventure activities are to create and foster amongst the youth a spirit of risk – taking, cooperative team work, the capacity of ready and vital response to challenging situations and of endurance. This also provides a creative and happy outlet for the abundant energy, enthusiasm and imagination of youths.
In these seven days Adventure promotion camp NYKs intend to cover activities like rock claiming, Jungle Trekking at ChidiyaTappu, Mount erring at Mount Harriet, and Costal Tracking at Wandoor and Dhanikhadi Dam. In addition to the main activities, educational field visit was organized to educational, historical and cultural places at Port Blair area.
Shri Sahadevan, Assistant Labour Welfare Commissioner, Directorate of Shipping Services has the Chief Guest and Shri Mohan Haldar, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Tushnabad was the Guest of hounour of the occasion. Shri Kundan Lal, District Youth coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair, welcome Chief Guest, Special guest and participants andShri Sukha Ranjan Biswas, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Carnicobar shared the seven days adventure promotion camp experiences, Shri Mohd. Tarique Shah, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Kamorta proposed the vote of thanks.
