Musical Group takes photographs for record and vanishes

Port Blair, June 01: The musical group, which was assigned job to conduct a musical show at Marina Park on 31st May 2014, was found packing up much before 7.30 pm, leaving music lovers and visitors upset.
Due to initiative of the present Secretary of Tourism, and Arts and Culture, Mr. Rakesh Bali, several musical groups are getting chance to perform at various locations in city, for which they are decently paid. Such programmes are being organized by Administration to make sure that Islanders gets enough avenues for entertainment.
But due to lack of check, now it seems musical groups are more interested only in cheques, for which photographs, showing the performance, is necessary. Hence this group yesterday performed till the photo session and then vanished from Marina Park.
“We were waiting for the show, they did not even perform for 40 minutes,” said a visitor.
Even sound system operators expressed helplessness. “They should have performed atleast till 8.30pm but they ended the show early,” said a sound operator, when asked. The photographs of workers packing up PA system, was clicked at 7.40 pm.
