Port Blair, Mar 12: India has allowed Malaysia to search for the missing aircraft of Malaysian Airlines on the airspace over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
“Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard likely to join in the search operation for the missing aircraft. Andaman Nicobar Command is in standby. Nod from Ministry of Defence is awaited,” Col. Harmeet Singh, the Public Relations Officer of Andaman Nicobar Command told ‘Andaman Sheekha’ today.
Col. Singh said that Australia and New Zealand are also likely to be permitted to conduct search over Andaman Sea.
“Malaysia permitted, Australia and New Zealand likely. For balance orders awaited,” Col Singh added.
Malaysian Airlines’ aircraft MH-370 had disappeared from radar on Saturday early morning and since then various countries have joined the search for the missing aircraft.
