Port Blair, Mar 11: The A & N Islands Unit of five regional parties formed an alliance to contest the general elections from these islands recently. At a meeting of Party Presidents and Secretaries held at the Janata Dal (United) office at Goal Ghar, the leaders of JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party, Samajwadi Party, All India Forward Block and Telugu Desam Party decided to form an alliance and contest the 16th Lok Sabha Parliamentary elections from these islands, informed C Shajahan Chekku, State President, JD(U) told Andaman Sheekha.
